FWF project approved: HYCOS

PEEC is pleased to announce the Austrian Science Funds' approval for the standalone project HYCOS - Hybrid Collaboration Spaces.

Recently, our research group received another funding approval - for the FWF standalone project HYCOS - Hybrid Collaboration Spaces.

In this basic research project we will intensively investigate collaboration environments for hybrid collaboration. Settings that have gained a significant importance in recent years due to the COVID-19 pandemic play a major role in this context. The goals in the HYCOS project are to establish a scientific definition for the term Hybrid Collaboration Space, to systematically elicit requirements for such a space, to build a modular prototype and evaluate it, and to develop generalizable design and implementation guidelines for Hybrid Collaboration Spaces.

The HYCOS project is expected to start on 1.4.2022, will be led by Mirjam Augstein and will be financed under the project number P 34928-GBL within the framework of the "Matching Fund" model of the FWF, half by the National Foundation for Research, Technology and Development, and half by the research promotion of the province of Upper Austria.  The project is further supported content-wise by the JKU Linz, the University of Graz and Microsoft Research Cambridge.
