Joint book publication with the participation of the leaders of our research group PEEC

 

Our management, Mirjam Augstein, together with Wolfgang Wörndl from the Technical University of Munich and Eelco Herder from Radbourd University Nijmengen in the Netherlands, is the board of the "Adaptivity and User Modeling in Interactive Software Systems" (ABIS) group of the Gesellschaft für Informatik e.V. (GI), which is the largest specialist society for computer science in the German-speaking area. Together they published the book "Personalized Human-Computer Interaction" with the DeGruyter Verlag in autumn 2019.

The published book deals with the current topic of personalization. This area now affects not only search engines or various web applications, but also more and more the area of ​​human-machine interaction. When using computers, tablets, cell phones, etc., users also require personalization and customization according to their individual wishes.

So far, there has been no book dealing with exactly this topic called "Personalized Web". That is why the three publishers have come together and published a book that summarizes over 300 pages of current state-of-the-art research in this area. The english work deals with the areas of HCI and personalization.

The collection of scientific articles by renowned international researchers includes topics such as foundations of user modeling, user input and feedback and personalization approaches. After a peer review process, these 11 articles were selected from 24 submitted articles and included in the book.

Basically, the book is aimed at researchers and students in the areas of adaptive or personalized systems and / or HCI. The cost of the book is € 69.95.
